RAIXA
Reissue of “Raixa”, the album released live by Maria de Mar Bonet in 2001. “Raixa” was recorded live from July 25th to 29th, 2001 during the celebration of the twenty-five years, almost uninterrupted, of Maria del Mar Bonet’s concerts at the Plaça del Rei in Barcelona. Raixa also wants to be a dedication and a vindication of a Mallorcan garden that at that time was threatened by speculation. Since 2002, Raixa has belonged to the Ministry of the Environment (currently the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Recovery) and the Consell Insular de Mallorca. In 2009 it was opened to the public and can be visited free of charge. Maria del Mar Bonet says that the selection of songs aims at “a feeling of contemplation over a garden, like the one we carry inside”. Maria del Mar Bonet is accompanied by the Ars Ensemble, directed by Joan Valent, in addition to her usual musicians: Javier Mas, Dimitri Psonis and Feliu Gasull.
Raixa represents the show with the most international projection so far. The 2001 sings to Sibiu (Romania), Torí (Itàlia) i Filadèlfia (EUA); l’any 2002 a Istanbul (Turquia), Atenes, Londres i Besiers (França); l’any 2003 fa gira pels Estats Units d’Amèrica (Nova York, Filadèlfia, Chicago, Indianapolis, Purchase, Los Angeles), pel Canadà (L’Assomption, Montreal, Le Bourse Rideau, Toronto, Beloeil), per Itàlia (Nàpols, Bolonya, Scandiano, Castelnovo ne’ Monti, San Remo) i per Holanda (Nimega, Amsterdam, Utrecht).
